Marines with 2nd Platoon, Weapons Company, 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment conducted a snap vehicle checkpoint patrol in downtown western Ramadi to disrupt insurgent activity in the battlespace May 23. Weapons Company conducted a snap vehicle checkpoint patrol in downtown western Ramadi in order to disrupt insurgent activity in the battlespace. 3/8 is currently deployed with I Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward) in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in Al Anbar Province to develop the Iraqi security forces, facilitate the development of official rule of law through democratic government reforms, and continue the development of a market-based economy centered on Iraqi reconstruction.

Construction Electrician 3rd mans a turret mounted M-240B machine gun atop a High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) to provide security while Seabees assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion Four (NMCB-4) clear debris from the streets of Fallujah, Iraq. NMCB-4 is homeported in Port Hueneme, California and is currently deployed in support of Operation Al Fajr (New Dawn). Operation Al Fajr is an offensive operation to eradicate enemy forces within the city of Fallujah in support of continuing security and stabilization operations in the Al Anbar province of Iraq.

'The destroyed remains of Iraqi T-54, T-55, Type 59 or Type 69 Main Battle Tanks (MBT) litter an Iraqi military complex West of Diwaniyah, near Al Qadisiyah, Iraq. Visible on the picture are also two ARVs (the upper one is a Chinese-made Type 653 while the lower one is a Polish-made WZT-2). The tank in the bottom of the picture is a Type 69 as evidenced by the fender-mounted headlights.'

Baghdad Eagles move stealthily through the muddied ground of a palm grove on a recent patrol in the area of Mahmudiayh, Iraq, 17 miles south of the Iraqi capital. Coalition and Iraqi Army Soldiers patrol this area together to deny the enemy safe haven and staging grounds to launch attacks against the capital city.
