Security forces cleared the tents set up by protesters, and forced them off the premises. 121 light wounds were suffered from police truncheons. The action was televised and spread via social media. By the end of the day, the square was occupied again.

It is responsible for co-ordinating the activities of the national border guards in ensuring the security of the EU's borders with non-member states. Frontex is headquartered in Warsaw, Poland. The main role of Frontex is to protect EU external borders from illegal immigration and people trafficking as well as infiltration into Europe by possible terrorist elements.
