Protest in Skoplje 2012

Taken on 2012-05-11

Organized through social networks, 5,000 - 10,000 protested in front of government buildings in Skopje, in reaction to the arrests of 20 ethnic Albanians suspected in the murder of 5 ethnic Macedonians in April that year. Protestors seem to be varied, having chanted: "death to Christians" "we are not terrorists, we are Muslims", "UCK", "ethnic Albania", "Muslims are not terrorists". The photo shows the green Saudi Arabian flag, the red Albanian, and the black flag of jihad.
