During the 1993 constitutional crisis, Yeltsin used his power as President to dissolve the Grand Soviet. A coup was launched seeing the Soviet proclaim their own president. A stand-off ensued leading to tank regiments loyal to Yeltsin to open fire on the parliament building, which was then stormed. This image shows the shelling of the building.
