IDF Medical Crew, Sinai, Egypt, 1973

On the Yom Kippur of October 6, 1973, Egypt and Syria launched a coordinated surprise attack on Israel. The Yom Kippur War was launched on the holiest day on the Jewish calendar: The Day of Atonement.
The Israel Defense Forces suffered 2,297 casualties and more than 7,200 soldiers were injured. Pictured here is an IDF medical crew evacuating an injured soldier from the battle field. (exact date unknown)
